Spare part for a hand pipe threader, allowing external threads to be cut on steel pipes with a nominal diameter of 3/4 inch. Made from 9Cr2 tool steel, designed for reconditioning YATO tools from the YT-2919 series.
A material containing 0.9% carbon and 2% chromium, hardened to a hardness of 58-62 HRC. It provides wear resistance when cutting threads in steel water and gas pipes. The 9Cr2 designation indicates an alloy chromium steel with enhanced cutting edge durability.
A size corresponding to a nominal pipe diameter of 20 mm in accordance with the PN-EN 10255 standard. A 3/4" parallel thread has an outside diameter of 26.441 mm and a pitch of 14 threads per inch. It is used in water, gas and heating installations with a working pressure of up to 16 bar.
The die head fits YATO hand pipe threaders from the YT-2919 series. Before purchase, verify the model number of the main tool – the die head is a dedicated component and will not work with other series or manufacturers.
Reconditioning a pipe threader by replacing the die head is economically justified once the cutting edges are worn. The die head should be replaced when you notice a deterioration in the quality of the thread being cut – burrs, uneven pitch or increased resistance during operation.

Before purchasing the die head, verify the model number of the main pipe threader. The YT-2919 die head fits only YATO pipe threaders marked with the same code. Mismatched models will prevent installation or cause the tool to work incorrectly. The model number can be found on the body of the pipe threader or in the technical documentation.
When cutting threads, use a suitable lubricant – threading oil or a cooling and lubricating emulsion. Without lubricant, the cutting edges overheat, blunt more quickly and the thread quality deteriorates. After each use, clean the die head of steel swarf with a wire brush and protect it with a thin layer of anti-corrosion oil.
The die head needs to be replaced when the thread being cut loses precision – burrs appear, the thread pitch becomes uneven or resistance increases when turning the pipe threader. Worn cutting edges put excessive load on the mechanism and can damage the tool body. Regularly checking the condition of the die head extends the service life of the entire pipe threader.
When working with a hand pipe threader, wear protective gloves to protect against sharp steel swarf and safety glasses to protect against flying particles. The swarf produced when cutting threads is sharp and can cause cuts. Working in enclosed spaces requires adequate ventilation, particularly when using solvent-based lubricants.
