A universal worm drive hose clip made from galvanised W1 steel, designed for connecting hoses and hydraulic lines in the 12-20 mm diameter range. The worm drive design ensures even distribution of the clamping force around the full circumference of the hose.
The worm drive screw clamp allows precise adjustment of the clamping force. The mechanism provides gradual tightening without the risk of damaging the hose, which is important when working with flexible materials and soft lines.
The W1 designation defines the basic grade of hot-dip galvanised steel. The zinc coating protects against corrosion in dry and moderately humid environments. It is not intended for contact with seawater or acids.
A width of 9 mm with a thickness of 0.6 mm represents a compromise between strength and flexibility. This design allows hoses to be secured safely at pressures of up to 25 bar without the risk of cutting the material.
Can be operated with three types of tool: a hex key, a Phillips screwdriver or a flat-blade screwdriver. This makes work easier in a range of installation conditions where access to one type of tool is restricted.

Measure the outside diameter of the hose after it has been pushed onto the spigot. Choose a clip whose lower range limit is equal to, or slightly smaller than, the measured value. For a 15 mm hose, the 12-20 mm model will provide optimum clamping without over-stressing the material.
Before fitting, check that the surface of the hose and the spigot are clean and dry. The clip is placed over the hose before it is pushed onto the spigot. Once the hose is in place, the clip is slid over the joint area and tightened gradually, checking that the clamping force is even.
Tightening should be carried out in stages – after the first tightening it is worth waiting a few minutes and checking the torque again. Flexible materials may deform slightly, which requires correction. Do not overtighten – excessive clamping can damage the structure of the hose.
In humid environments, periodic checks of the condition of the zinc coating are recommended. The appearance of surface rust indicates that the clip needs replacing. In installations subject to vibration, it is worth checking the tightening torque every 6 months.
W1 clips are not intended for highly corrosive environments or for contact with seawater, acids or alkalis. In such conditions, clips made from A2 or A4 stainless steel should be used. Do not use in installations exceeding 25 bar.
