Sandpaper in a roll 115 mm wide and 5 metres long, designed for aggressive sanding of wood, metal and plastics, and for removing coatings. Grit 60 removes material quickly during the initial preparation of a surface.
A grit of 60 means coarse abrasive grain that removes material from the surface quickly. It is used for removing deep scratches, old coatings and rust, and for the initial levelling of unevenness before finish sanding with finer grits.
The 115 mm width matches standard belt sanders and allows sheets of any length to be cut by hand. A 5-metre roll provides a large working surface, which reduces how often the material needs changing during continuous work.
The sandpaper is suitable for working hardwood and softwood, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics, plaster and filler, and for removing paint and varnish. Grit 60 works particularly well when preparing surfaces before finishing.
The construction of the sandpaper provides resistance to tearing during intensive work. A durable bond between the abrasive grain and the backing minimises shedding of the material, which extends the service life of each sheet.

Grit 60 is a material for initial work. After sanding with this grit, it is advisable to move to grit 80-120 to smooth the surface, and then to 180-240 for finishing. Skipping the intermediate stages can leave visible scratches on the surface.
The roll can be cut with scissors or a knife to sizes that fit a belt sander, an oscillating sander or for hand use. When fitting it to a sander, check the grain direction and the correct belt tension to avoid the material tearing during work.
When working with sandpaper, wear safety goggles, a dust mask and work gloves. Sanding generates wood, metal or paint dust which can be harmful if inhaled. Working in a ventilated room or with a dust extraction system is recommended.
