A lambswool polishing bonnet designed for fitting to rotary polishers with a hook-and-loop backing pad. The 150 mm diameter ensures compatibility with most angle polishers and rotary polishers available on the market.

Lambswool material
Natural lambswool is soft and flexible, which minimises the risk of holograms and micro-scratches on the polished surface. The fibre structure of the wool ensures even distribution of polishing compound.
Hook-and-loop attachment system
The hook-and-loop attachment allows bonnets to be changed quickly without tools. The system holds the bonnet securely during operation at speeds up to 5000 rpm, eliminating the risk of the bonnet coming off during polishing.
150 mm diameter
The 150 mm size is the standard in professional polishing, offering an optimum balance between working area and control of the tool. This diameter is compatible with the M14 backing pads used on most polishers.
Speed rating up to 5000 rpm
A maximum speed of 5000 rpm allows work both when finishing paintwork (lower speeds of 1500-2500 rpm) and during intensive polishing with abrasive compounds (higher speeds of 3000-4500 rpm).

Compatibility and fitting
The YATO YT-47912 polishing bonnet works with polishers fitted with a 150 mm hook-and-loop backing pad. Before fitting, make sure the backing pad is clean and free from polishing compound residue. The bonnet is fitted by pressing the hook-and-loop side onto the backing pad, ensuring it adheres fully across the entire surface.
Checking compatibility
To check compatibility with your polisher, measure the diameter of the backing pad – it should be 150 mm. Also make sure the backing pad has a hook-and-loop (Velcro) surface rather than a thread or another type of attachment. Standard rotary polishers and variable-speed angle polishers usually use this size.
Use and maintenance
When working with the polishing bonnet, use a speed suited to the type of compound and the polishing stage. Finishing compounds require lower speeds (1500-2500 rpm), while medium-abrasive compounds can be applied at 3000-4000 rpm.
After use, clean the bonnet of polishing compound residue. Lambswool can be hand-washed in lukewarm water with a mild detergent, avoiding wringing it out forcefully. It should be dried at room temperature, away from direct heat sources.
Personal protective equipment
When working with a rotary polisher, safety goggles are recommended to protect against flying polishing compound, along with work gloves and protective clothing. Avoid wearing loose clothing that could be caught by the rotating parts of the tool.
